I didn't come here really often , but I've been running a poll on a couple of forums this last week...

I selected 64 of the better-known and best wrestling games to be voted in game vs. game fights in a tournament ... it would be started in a first round of 32 matches...

Therefore, I want you to see the list and if you think there's a game that would deserve better to be in my list, we could adjust, then we'd start the tourney

I eschewed (and why):
-WWF WrestleMania (NES) - too bad game
-WWF WrestleMania Challenge (NES) - I felt WWF WrestleFest arcade game would be a better choice
-All of the old LJN WWF games except WWF Raw - I felt that WWF Raw is the most-achieved game of the series

-I had a hard time selecting between Hammerlock Wrestling (SNES) and Tecmo World Wrestling (NES) - I felt that Tecmo WW is better

-I wanted to drop a sample of the very best Japan product in recent years... so i eschewed most of the SNES Japan stuff and many early Japanese PS1 games only to keep Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium as maybe the possible most popular Japanese wrestling ROM since there's this one in English on the Web...so I kept some of the most famous Fire Pro games ...

-And I wanted to highlight some old classic games like Pro Wrestling on NES, Slam Masters...

-And there's series like the WCW Inland games ... WCW Nitro and WCW/NWO Thunder are basically the same game, Thunder has more wrestlers and a cage match so i eschewed Nitro... I chose WWE Road to WrestleMania X8 as maybe the best representative of all the old WWF portable games... it could be WWE Survivor Series as well, both are basically the same game...

-And i left the PC-web games (Wrestling Encore, Extreme Warfare, Homebrew, Pro Wrestling X and company) into a different territory, for the hardcore sim-maniacs... Fire Pro Returns is serving as the entry door for that category while being a mainstream game...

If everybody agrees with this list (or after title changes), I have everything on papers in a pot, I'll pick at random the titles, match after match, and i post a match every day.... I'd need at least 2 or 3 votes per match (mine included). If there's an ultimate draw, I'll decide by fate with throwing up a coin...

WrestleMania: the Arcade Game

I never tried Galactic Wrestling although I know it's an Aki game...there's plenty of better Aki games...

I played thousands of times WWF WrestleMania Arcade for the last 11 years... and never got bored of this game.... I remember having bought a brand-new SNES game pak back in 1997 ... it's easily the SNES cart with the most worn-out sticker on it... and I still play this game on ROM ans ZSNES emulator... still plays excellent with a classic SideWinder game controller with SNES-like button layout...

So I go with WrestleMania.... it goes to the 2nd round...

The only one I played out of these is Def Jam FFNY so I'll pick that one.

I was going to buy DoR2 at the local RePlay games store used one time, so when I took it up to the counter they were looking for the disk. After awhile and going through all the disks, they didn't have the disk.

One day I'm going to get DoR2 and play it on my Wii but until then I'm going with the one I've played, Def Jam: Fight For New York.

On another forum, I've picked two titanic matches Aki vs Fire Pro and voted WWF WrestleMania 2000 over Super Fire Pro X Premium, and Def Jam Vendetta over Fire Pro Wrestling Advance....the first is my longtime classic and the second (Vendetta), I felt that game's story mode is more addictive than playing Fire Pro, and it contains all the good Aki engine with arcade moves....

I'll go with Def Jam FFNY .... even with an altered engine,it still plays good and offers an addictive story mode as well...

AKI Wins WM2000

WM 2000 looked like an absolute dream game for me when it was released... and it's still one of my favorites, even after all the SmackDowns - LOWs - Def Jams - and all the WWE alternate games on GameCube and Xbox.... WM2000 wins

This one's a hard choice, but I pick Smackdown SYM, Warzone could've been improved on simply by fixing the control scheme.

It's true that WarZone is such a classic....on another poll vs. ShowDown Legends of Wrestling,
I was on the verge on voting WarZone , but I ended up pulling SLOW to verify some things about the arenas and ended up playing SLOW,and finally I picked SLOW....even with its bugs and ugly glitches
