If you're interested in Lucha Libre (like AAA & CMLL), search for those Mexican documentaries "Verdad y Fama" in Youtube ... there's documentaries on El Santo (& El Hijo del Santo), Blue Demon, Rey Mysterio, Perro Aguayo, La Parka... www.youtube.com/user/verdadyfamaVery interesting to know about those Mexican icons like Santo who did '60s Batman-like movies & wrestling at the same time!!!

Very interesting to know about those Mexican icons like Santo who did '60s Batman-like movies & wrestling at the same time!!! At least they're better than the annual WrestleCrap Christmas induction's Mexican Santa Claus movie. however, They are some of the most famous wrestlers in Mexico because they could do both act and wrestle. Wonder how many of the ones today could do both?

Wrestling culture changed so much over the last 20-30 years, i think no place in the world escaped to those changes....
Amazing fact that Mexico took a guy like Santo, and transformed him into a multi-platform "superhero".... something that Adam "Batman" West wasn't .... being a wrestler....
But the Santo craze died in the late 70's .... there's periods that TV entertainment & several movie styles "rot" , wrestling seems to be more prone to "rot" on TV than anything else...
In Quebec , we had a wrestling "God" by the name of Yvon Robert, who won championships in the 30's-40's.... he's easily a "God" in Quebec wrestling in the same vein as well as Santo in Mexico, and Rikidozan in Japan.... today, almost nobody talk about Robert, there's no Quebec wrestling on TV for the last 20 years (courtesy of the WWF), only lots of indy leagues in the Montreal area who does shows in church halls and bars for a small handful of local people ...
