What do you think of the new joystick-based grappling controls?
Last year, I had trouble learning the new controls... enough to play on another control layout...
I've read somewhere (I don't know if its true) that they eliminated the old-style control layouts, playing more with the joysticks in SvsR 2008... that's why i'm hesitant to buy this year's SvsR game...
And, I still haven't finished Shut Your Mouth, SvsR 2006 and 2007... I finished SvsR "2005" several weeks ago...
Friday, I bought DS games, and I had to make a decision, budget-wise.... I was at a Wal-Mart store , wondering for a good hour on which DS game I should buy, besides Puzzle Quest: "Should I buy SvsR 2008 DS or Sim City DS?" .... I chose Sim City DS....
I checked videos of the DS game and said to myself " Aaaargh ...I don't want to make a knee smash on the mat with a stylus on the bottom screen"... and another side of me tells me to buy the game, even if its for collecting purpose...

I have played all of the Smackdown games since the first one. I played 08 on Wii (rented from gamefly). I like them a little and have beat all except 08. I like the motion sensing controls for Wii.

Gamespot rated it 4.5/10 ... I think that Wii version would become popular, it's one of the 10 most wanted games at www.gamespot.com

the Wii version is one of my favorite Smackdown games in years. I don't care that it only has five match types. It's probably more fun than the other versions as well. The motion controlled taunts are great too.

I think i 'll buy SVR 2008 on DS...
The SmackDown vs Raw product shows more variety this year, with the Wii and DS versions...
That's good changes this year!!!

From what I'm hearing the DS version isn't very good but you can try it.

It's not very expansive ... the DS game is 29$ in Canada at Wal Mart!!!!
For the PS2 version , i'll get when it will be cheaper or used in the pawn shop.... maybe i will do only the story mode on it !!! lol

Im not a big fan of all the changes theyve been making with the SvR series as of late, it seems like add a bunch of filler and keep taking out things that made earlier games like Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain great. Ive finished all the games except '08 but if I play a Smackdown game its usually Here Comes the Pain, its my favorite roster and the match options arent as limited.

Here Comes the Pain was defiantly the high point in the series. They should've just made roster updates and kept the same graphics.
